Mr. Peng Hua, the senior vice president of Shenzhen YD Electronics, said: “Millimeter waves are the electromagnetic waves with wavelengths from ten to one millimeters, and corresponding to the radio frequencies of 30 to 300 gigahertz. The millimeter wave products were independently developed by our company, and the line-of-sight transmission distance can reach 10km, the transmission rate can reach 10G.”
Recently, the “Millimeter Wave Private Network Communication System for Rail Transit" jointly developed by Shenzhen YD Electronics and the Information Technology Institute of Southwest Jiaotong University has been successfully tested in the National Railway Test Base, and has achieved excellent test results, and this system realizes high-speed wireless train-to-ground communication in high mobility environment. Mr. Peng Hua further introduced the difficulties and the breakthroughs of this test.
Mr. Peng Hua introduced: “16 base stations were used in the test, and the train was installed with millimeter wave equipment, private wireless communication network was constructed for train-to-ground communication, it realized coverage for all kinds of railway scenarios, including ramps, curved track, tunnels, etc. The whole test environment was very hash and the railroad in the test field was very bumpy, this provided sufficient validation for our products, and proved the stability of our products. The slope of the railroad reaches 35/1000, and according to national high-speed railway standards, the turning radius needs to exceed 1km, in this test, the maximum turning radius reaches 1.426km. In this extremely harsh test environment, the peak rate of our communication system reaches 3G, and the normal communication rate is >2G, the latency is 0.2ms, and the handover time between base stations is 130μs, all the indicators are superior to the international 5G standard, the test results were verified by a third party.

It provides strength reserve for China to seize the high-end international rail transit market in the 5G era, and provides guarantee for the strategic implementation of One Belt One Road, promotion of Chinese high-speed train to the world, intelligent manufacturing, and Sichuan-Tibet Railway construction.”
